It is mandated to promote and protect human rights globally, addressing violations, strengthening international standards, and fostering dialogue among nations.
The Council serves as a central platform for examining thematic human rights issues and country-specific situations that require international attention. Through resolutions, special procedures, fact-finding missions, and the Universal Periodic Review mechanism, it works to ensure accountability, transparency, and the advancement of fundamental freedoms worldwide.
