The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) is an international organization that facilitates cooperation among law enforcement agencies across its member countries. Established in 1923, it focuses on combating transnational crime, enhancing international police cooperation, and strengthening global security. INTERPOL addresses issues such as terrorism, cybercrime, human trafficking, drug trafficking, organized crime, and financial crime.
It plays a crucial role in facilitating the exchange of criminal intelligence and coordinating efforts between national law enforcement agencies to address crimes that cross international borders. While INTERPOL does not have the authority to make arrests or enforce laws directly, it supports member countries through international alerts, databases, and coordinated operations, promoting cooperation to create a safer and more secure world.
